What is the patient reference group ?
The patient reference group is intended to foster good relations between the
Surgery and patients and secondly, to act as a conduit for communication in both
directions between the Surgery and patients. It has a Constitution and is
managed on a day-to-day basis by a ‘Core Group’ (comprised of Patients, Doctors,
Practice Manager and Practice staff)
Aims of the patient reference
group

To Actively involve patients in making suggestions to improve the services
provided

To obtain feedback on the quality of the services provided

To discuss issues and expectations from the patients’ point of view
The main aim of the patient reference group is to work to improve services from
a patient point of view.
A patient reference group helps to voice the needs, views and requirements of
the practice population and to influence the service provided by Hilly Fields
Medical Centre.
Involvement of the patient reference group
To meet three times a year, usually from 1.00 – 3.00pm at Hilly Fields Medical
Centre.
